I know but now you can cast it from any range. Foes can't pre-empt then flee it and you don't have ot stand at the front-line and be at risk from melee.

It didn't seem out of the ordinary but you made sure to do it enough to max your title right away... yeah totally innocent.

Chillblains nerf was a mistake, it was one of the few skills that could easily take down Shadow Form assassins.

Well, I believe this update has gotten me back into GWEN. I'll get to work on filling out my books later.
Good stuff. And if I get my top right piece, I'll be having some fun in Snowman dungeon as well.

OH NO NOT SHADOW FORM SINS! CAUSE THEY'RE IN ALL THE GUD PVP LOL!
For serious though, it was shit as it was before, admit it, it was essentially touch range, now that its targeted you actually might have a chance to remove something useful...

Yep Rit spirit spamming took a big hit!
I don't get what they are thinking with is it makes no sense at all. Hey lets take a class that already very few find appealing to even play and nuke its biggest asset and make it so no one will bother with it, just freaking brilliant.
Why even bother to add new classses to the game if you are so bad at what you are doing you end up nuking them to uselessness?

Necromancers don't have any shortage of enchant removal So it's not like they needed this changed.

They seemed to do that with 1 of each new class. Ritualist and Paragon have been hit hard numerous times. Assassin wasn't too popular to begin with, but its definitely gaining popularity now, with more players moving into PvP areas. Dervish has been gold so far.

I got some issues with master dungeon guide / heroes handbook:
If I understand it well, you can now turn them both in to:
* Gedral of Ascalon [Vanguard Herald] inside the Eye of the North
* Kodan [Dwarven Recruitment Officer] in Gunnar's Hold
* Tyr the Skaald [Norn Storyteller] in Gunnar's Hold
* Lexx [Asuran Talent Scout] in Rata Sum
When doing so you get the listed reward. After turning them in you can get a new empty book and get it filled again for a fee. Now, you can turn them in to the other NPC's for the reputation points of the other groups.
>> Do I understand this right?? <<
If so, I'm experiencing a bug. I turned in my master dungeon guide for Vanguard points and got a new one which I 'refilled' again for a payment. But I can't turn in my heroes handbook, nor can I turn in any book to the other NPC's of the other groups (Like the dwarven)
Any explanations here? I'm talking about the normal mode books which I fully completed.
Edit: I learned that you cannot turn in a book when you are R8+ of a rank (Too bad, I already got R8 Dwarven by grinding). But still I have a new empty book which no NPC wants to update with the dungeons I've completed.

Now offically dead right? I wouldn't say so, two core skills got nerfed big time, gfte is junk now but AR could still have its usses, perhaps its just time for somthing diffrent ^^. Mabay we will see more paragons for their intended purposes as party support and then mabay some of those really really really crappy skills they have can get (re)buffed =D.
|
I would officially say dead, yes, "the paragon is a dead class" it has no redeeming qualities now. Tell me what a paragon now does that is different than another class? It was difficult enough getting into a group as a Paragon. Now that 2 core skills got hit (2 of less than 25 reasonable skills left) public opinion places paragons below the desire of an assassin in the party. What role does a paragon now have in a party of eight? TNTF was good before the nerf, and at least you could get into a group with some expectation like an ele or necro when you walked into a town, and you could keep up DPS to contend with a BP Ranger. Now because of the PATHOLOGICAL BALANCE FANATICS this fine class will be dead in the minds of people looking to form groups for whatever. It's role as party buffer has been nerfed to hell and back on a consistent basis. Tell me what it can buff now? What does it do that is superior to any other class, whats it's role?
Warriors, Assassins, Dervish and Rangers out DPS a paragon using paragon weapons while maintaining their armor.
Critical Strike Spears, better critical % unchanged armor.
Strength Spears, 5%-15% better Armor penetration unchanged armor.
Mytic Spears, Better Armor through forms and enchants + a non penalty IAS
Expertease Spears, Lower cost of energy for spear skills, good defensive skills, non - penalty IAS skills unchanged armor.
It used to be Leadership Spears, with DPS from GFTE and AR that could compete vs. other physical classes. These two skills are the core of every good Para build. Even if you force yourself to take the Remedy Signet. Thats an extra one second and skill you must now depend on every time you end a shout.
Monks & Ritualists can out Heal or Protect a party better than a Paragon. So where is the buffer aspect where has it now gone.
Whats the point of the Paragon when everything else is better than what you were designed to do in the first place?
SO YES THANKS TO THE PATHOLOGICAL BALANCE FANATICS THE PARAGON IS TRULY A DEAD CLASS.

Infinite passive defense while maintaining the ability to pump out DPS? You can talk big about Monks and Ritualists, but Paragons are the kings and queens of passive defense, hands down. Their DPS ability is just a side benefit, really.
It's not the fault of the balance fanatics that so many people don't understand math and mechanics.

A monk and a rt can out provide a paragon party wide armor buffs and IAS? I'm sorry but this post lacks is dripping with one sidedness. Please consider both the PvP AND PvE nature of the class before you complain about nerfs.
Also, TWO skills for the paragon where nerfed (and 1 warrior skill they used a lot). If your build was so shallow that it couldn't recover, don't complain here. Granted, the paragon doesn't have a lot of good skills to choose from, but you can still make a viable bar.

Yes. + LOL @ aggressive refrain. Everything else seems fine. Wonder if Anet added those new skinned items (design a weapon contest winners) yet. All other skill changes seem fine imo.

I reckon its a one time only thing, but that doesn't matter. You only need to fill in half the books to actually be able to hand them in for a reward.
